March Mayhem & Unexpected Travel

The Stats

Hard to believe March is already here and Order of Light has been out in the world for twelve days! It was quite the journey to get the sequel to Darkness Defined loaded in time for the pre-order, but I have to say, I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. I think that warrants some fun (updated) stats. Don’t you?

  • KENP Reads: 25,581
    • that’s approximately 86 copies!
    • I couldn’t have made that up if I’d tried XDE
  • books sold: 43
    • mostly preorders
    • but it’s on Kindle Unlimited, so that tracks
  • Reviews: 11 on Amazon & 5 on Goodreads
    • Okay, not so fun there, but I remain optimistic
    • Haven’t left your review yet? What are you waiting for!?
  • Avg Rating: 3.9/5 on Amazon & 4.8/5 on Goodreads
    • clearly not everyone loves it as much as I do, and that’s okay!
    • Special reminder: reviews don’t have to be long!

Now, onward to Knights of Nyx! The release of the third, and final, installment for War on Darkness is scheduled for August 3rd, 2023. You can pre-order your copy here. If you’re interested in receiving an advance copy you can reply to this email or you can join the ARC team directly! All goes well and those ARCs will be hitting inboxes by the start of July (maybe even sooner).

The Travel

You’re probably wondering about the “travel” mentioned in the subject line. As life would have it, I will be flying up to Wisconsin to help my dearest and oldest friend for two weeks. Alas, it will not be all hugs and wonderful reunions. I’ll be bringing my nine-to-five with me and we have several goals to accomplish while I’m there. Fingers crossed, writing gets to be one of them.

This side quest might throw off editing schedules, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to seeing her again. She is actually the reason I pursued writing in the first place. Before that, it was all silly stories and whacky dreams. And just maybe one day y’all will get to see the dream collaboration that started it all.

The Poll

Would you prefer one skilled narrator or two different ones for Darkness Defined?

*One if Fine* *Must be Two* *Flip a Coin*

Sad to say, this inspired hive-mind sourcing yielded a very unhelpful 50/50. Guess responders took “flip a coin” seriously. LOL At any rate, I’m not quite ready to embark on that adventure just yet, but as always, welcome any input you might like to share. Especially favorite narrators! I confess, I don’t listen to audiobooks often and am woefully out of the loop.

Want to know something in particular about me or my books? I’m putting together a list for an upcoming newsletter! Email me at info@booksbysbolanos.com with the subject “Ask Me Anything” or comment your question on this post and you could see them in the next update!
