The Author

We’re all guilty of it; maybe some of us more than others. What form does yours take? Netflix, Facebook, staring up at the ceiling with no definable purpose? I confess, I do all three, sometimes in rotation.

This most recent bout has been dominated by rereading a guilty pleasure of mine. Which might not sound so bad as a writer (research and all that)….except I wrote it. Quite frankly, I am losing count of how many times I’ve read this book, which, for the record, I only finished last September.

So, yeah, rather than read through and edit Sara’s Moon, I am doing that for Darkness Defined. It hasn’t been a total time-suck though; there has been some productivity. At least that’s how I’m justifying it.

I officially and finally split the original manuscript into two; read through and edited the first half; and even made a brief bullet outline for Knights of Nyx (Book 3). Everything was going swimmingly for being off track, until I committed the cardinal sin: I started reading Order of Light on my phone. As you can imagine, that means next to no edits.

Thus I have my current conundrum. I feel obligated to finish reading Order of Light (on my phone) before returning to the task of editing. Of course this means that I would technically have to reread much of the book again. And all of this before I can resume what I should have been doing this whole time: editing Sara’s Moon.

What can I say? This is my life.
